The British Tenpin Bowling Association

Bowl In A League

THE IMPORTANCE OF LEAGUE SANCTIONING

The BTBA support an extensive network of sanctioned leagues across England.  BTBA members that choose to bowl in sanctioned leagues are given assurances and guarantees covering the minimum standards of the centre and facilities, adherence to rules, safety of prize monies and. of course, protection of the future for our sport in England.

Unsanctioned leagues frequently adopt rules stating that all BTBA rules apply, and then find it nearly impossible to enforce equitable rules as they do not have the support or backing of the National Governing Body.  The BTBA provides the resources and personnel to enforce its playing rules.

The BTBA also provides members in sanctioned leagues with awards.  These are not limited to outstanding scoring achievements. While the BTBA recognises bowling's pinnacle achievement - the 300 game with a certificate of recognition and 300 pin badge in sanctioned play, there are awards available for scoring achievements at all talent levels.

The more sanctioned leagues we have, and the more BTBA members bowling in sanction play, the stronger the voice of the BTBA with centre owners in gaining respect, consideration and better quality conditions and maintenance in centres for our members.
