Head Coaches appointed as BTBA prepare for Coach 14

The final pieces of the Team England jigsaw are coming together with the appointment of the Head Coaches across each age group.

Head of Coaching Mark Heathorn expressed how pleased he was with the level of interest shown, “I was delighted by the quality and quantity of applicants we had for the Head Coach positions and although we had to make some tough decisions around selection, I feel that we are able to offer most people the opportunity to be involved in Team England coaching somewhere down the line”. He went onto explain that he would be looking to establish a pool of assistant coaches who would be able to support the coaching programme and participate at international tournaments if required.

BTBA Chairman Pat White to stand down

Chairman Pat White to stand down as Chair at 2014 AGM

After many years of continuous service as Chairman of the BTBA, Mrs Pat White has decided not to seek re-election at the AGM scheduled for 24 May 2014.

Following this decision, Vice-chairman Ron Griffin said, “After many years of distinguished service, members will be pleased to know that Pat is not walking away, she’s making way, and she will continue to be an active and enthusiastic supporter of all that we are trying to achieve as we look to secure a healthy and viable future for the BTBA”.

'Coach 14' Postponed

A number of very important developments over the last 48 hours have led to the decision to postpone the Coach 14 Seminar originally planned for the end of January.

The Head of Coaching Mark Heathorn confirmed, "Whilst I am disappointed on the one hand, it is absolutely the right decision to move the seminar to nearer the official launch date in September. A number of factors have come to light which involve having to change some of the content which will affect how the programme will be delivered. It will be worth the wait though and in the meantime I will announce a Phase 2 course to meet the existing immediate demands."

2015 Team England Selection Application

The BTBA and Team England are delighted to announce that the 2015 Team England Selection Application form has now been published.

"Welcome to 2014! A new Year and a New beginning for Team England Seniors and Adults. Hopefully over the Christmas break you have been able to digest not only your turkey and chocolates but the policies for the BTBA Tours and Trials. I have taken on board some initial feedback about dates of some of the trials and I can assure you that my team and I are looking at this very carefully. I can not promise that one date will not clash with something, but we will do our upmost not to clash with other major events."
